Step 1: Decontamination Wash & Surface Prep

To prep the Land Cruiser for PPF and ceramic coating, we began with a full decontamination wash. This is always the foundation of a clean install, because nothing bonds correctly if contaminants remain on the surface.

We pre-soaked the SUV with a thick layer of foam to soften dirt and remove early road film. For the front end and lower panels, we used an iron remover to dissolve embedded metal particles before we ever touched the paint. Once the chemical decon was complete, we scrubbed around emblems, trims, door seals, and mirror bases with soft detail brushes to remove trapped dust.

Next, we moved into our contact wash using pH-neutral soap and a microfiber wash mitt. We washed every panel in straight lines, rinsing frequently to avoid reintroducing dirt. A clay bar treatment followed to clear bonded contaminants that could interfere with the PPF or coating.

Once rinsed, we dried the SUV using filtered air blowers to avoid dragging towels across the paint. With the vehicle fully decontaminated, it was ready for detailed inspection.

Step 2: Paint Inspection & Light Machine Polishing

Even on a new Land Cruiser, factory paint often shows transport marring, small swirls, or wash inconsistencies. Under LED inspection lighting, we checked the entire vehicle panel-by-panel.

Any light defects were refined using a dual-action polisher with a soft finishing pad. This step ensures the ceramic coating bonds to a clean, smooth surface and gives the vehicle a deeper gloss once cured. Edges, tight corners, and black trim pieces were taped off to protect them during polishing.

After the paint refinement, we wiped each panel with a panel-prep solution to remove polishing oils. The surface was now ready to receive protection.

Step 3: Front-End PPF Installation

The owner opted to protect the high-impact areas, bumper, partial hood, fenders, and mirrors, with Paint Protection Film. We started in the design bay, generating exact panel patterns for the Land Cruiser using a plotter and specialized software. This gives us perfect accuracy without cutting film directly on the paint.

With the patterns printed, we flooded the panels with slip solution and laid each section of film into position. Using soft squeegee blades, heat guns for controlled shaping, and edge tools for tight areas, we worked the film into place.

We used IR lamps on larger panels to help the coating cure uniformly. Windows and high-touch surfaces were wiped clean to prevent residue buildup during curing. The coating gave the Land Cruiser a deep glow and made its light color pop under the lights.

Step 5: Window Tint Installation & Final Inspection

We finished the project by installing window tint on all sides and rear glass. After measuring and heat-shaping the film on our prep board, we applied it using a clean slip solution and non-marring installation tools. Each window was squeegeed carefully to remove moisture without lifting the film.

Once the tint settled, we performed a full inspection of the SUV,  checking PPF edges, ceramic coating clarity, and tint uniformity under LED light. Tires were dressed, glass was cleaned, and the Land Cruiser was staged for delivery.
